DAY ONE
After viewing the video of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous speech you are to:
1. Annotate the text of the speech, looking for King's use of the rhetorical devices discussed in class. (click here to download text)
2. Respond to rhetorical analysis questions on a separate sheet of paper. (click here to download the questions)
Be sure to have both parts ready for tomorrow's discussion.
DAY TWO
The next step for this analysis activity has two parts to it. You should use your annotated copy of the speech as well as your responses to the Rhetorical Analysis questions from yesterday. You will want to log into Blackboard and go to the "I Have a Dream" folder, found in the "Unit 6" folder of the "Content" section for your class period.
Here is a link to the NPR.org article you must read before answering Question 3 of the "Journal Reflections." You can also download a PDF if you wish.
